Club Etiquette

DRESS CODE

Members and guests shall at all times be appropriately dressed in the Clubhouse or on the deck around the Clubhouse. Not allowed anywhere on Club premises are: bare feet, bare torsos, men's sleeveless tee shirts or bathing suits without opaque coverups. 

Men must wear collared shirts on the East Deck, the South Deck, the Commodore’s Room, and the Rainbow Room at all times.  Additionally, jackets are required for men on Saturday evenings except at the umbrella tables and in the bar area.

Men are requested to refrain from wearing hats anywhere in the clubhouse.

Denim, in keeping with a smart casual look, may be worn on the South Deck, the umbrellas tables and in the bar area.

Children over the age of 5 should observe the above guidelines, except jackets are not required under the age of 10.

Bathing suits with opaque coverups and board shorts are acceptable at the umbrella tables until 1800 but are not permitted in the Clubhouse.

After racing, racing attire is welcome in the bar and at the umbrellas tables. Following Wednesday night racing, racing attire may also be worn on the South Deck and, at the Manager's discretion, in the Commodore's Room adjacent to the bar.

DEMEANOR

No one under the age of 21 is allowed to sit or stand at the bar. Further, alcoholic beverages will not be served to anyone under the age of 21 on Club property.

The conduct and safety of children while on Club premises shall be the responsibility of parents or guardians and children under the age of 14, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian, shall not be allowed on Club premises. Exceptions to this rule shall be taken for children participating in Club programs.

Cell phones

The use of cell phones is only permitted in the foyer immediately outside of the Ladies’ and Men’s rooms and in the dry sail area and the parking lot. They are expressly forbidden in all other areas of the Club and on launches, except that in the Slicker Room and Bar, cell phones and other electronic devices may be used, soundlessly for texts and emails. Cell phones must be set to ring silently in all areas inside the Club, including the dining room, the decks and elsewhere on Club premises.

Pets

Only dogs on leash will be tolerated on Club property. Dogs are not permitted within the Clubhouse. Owners are responsible for leashing and picking up after their dogs.
