ReciprocITY

SIYC Club Members

Membership in the Shelter Island Yacht Club includes the privilege of visiting other clubs that recognize SIYC as a reciprocal organization. Members should contact any club they plan to visit in advance to avoid disappointment upon arrival. Some clubs require a letter of introduction from the Commodore or General Manager of SIYC ([email protected]) and/or a current membership card. Please provide the name and address of the club you wish to visit and SIYC will be happy to accommodate your request for an introductory letter. Please let us know 24 hours before you plan to visit a reciprocal club to give us time to forward a letter of introduction.

Visiting Guests
SIYC offers guest privileges, subject to SIYC's By-Laws and House Rules, to members of recognized reciprocal clubs. Accredited yacht clubs interested in becoming a reciprocal club should send an introduction from a Club Officer with information about your Club to the the attention of SIYC's Commodore ([email protected]) for consideration. Generally, reciprocal clubs extend reciprocity to SIYC Members and offer similar amenities (e.g. transient moorings and dining facilities) as SIYC.

Transient Yachting Privileges
In addition to SIYC reciprocal clubs, SIYC may offer temporary guest privileges to members of other accredited clubs, who are visiting SIYC by yacht. Guest yachting privileges are subject to SIYC's By-Laws and House Rules. To request guest yachting privileges, please have a Club officer send a letter of introduction on your behalf confirming the details and dates of your intended visit to the attention of SIYC's General Manager ([email protected]).
