Race Committee

The SIYC Race Committee has come a long way from the Club’s inception, when we stood on the balcony of the Clubhouse and signaled the ferry wharf to fire a cannon to begin our races.

Today, the SIYC Race Committee is comprised of 35 dedicated Club member volunteers, and a number of staff race-professionals and support boats. Our beloved signal boat Dilemma is ever-present on the racecourses. This active Race Committee supports the dynamic racing calendars of our Etchells, H12 and PHRF fleets as well as our Junior Sailing Program regattas. Our objective is to provide excellent support for our competitive racing programs while maintaining the highest commitment to safety.  The SIYC racing program would not be possible without the support of SIYC members who make up the Race Committee volunteer team.
